That’s right! After a few years of the same design, it was time. Even though I haven’t had time to make anything worth posting recently, I did take the time to re-design my website. It is now more of a blog format. It will be much more easy for me to maintain and update. But the main new feature for you guys is “Comments”! Yes, you can now comment on any of the posts I make and you do not need to register to do so. So feel free to go back and comment on some of my older posts as well if you wish! If you got anything else to add, feel free to E-Mail me: christopher.snow@snowfall-cg.com
Thanks for dropping by!
Here are a few props that I did for our entry in the Unearthly Challenge ’09 over at GameArtisangs.org. These are all screen grabs taken directly from the Maya viewport using a somewhat tweaked version of Xoliul’s 3DS Max Viewport Shader from Game-Artist.net that I got to get working in Maya. Here’s the link to the main thread for the shader.
Here are some Work in Progress shots of my modeling of Saint-Basil Cathedral. Mostly clay renders and some wireframe. To be viewed from top to bottom.
I’ve finally gotten around to posting this here. This is the modeling of Saint-Basil Cathedral in Moscow that I got done for the CG Challenge XXIV over at cgsociety.org. You can find more close-up shots of each tower on my thread here.
So I decided to join in on the CG Challenge XXIV over at cgsociety.org. Even though I have very little free time. Hopefully I’ll have enough free time to finish! The theme this time around is “Secret Agent”. I’m modeling Saint-Basil Cathedral in Moscow for this Challenge as part of my entry. You can read all about my entry and follow my threadhere.
My “Morning Departure” image won 1st Prize in the “Railway Scene” competition over at Environment Textures! I won a 1 year premium membership. Now I’ll have plenty of textures and references for my future projects! Thanks to Environment Textures for the nice award. Click here to see the hi-res image.
I finally had time to make a new image for my Portfolio. Even though I had very little free time to work on it, I did manage to finish in time for the March 15th deadline of the “Railway Scene” competition over at Environment Textures. The judging process it currently going on. I wanted to make a dark, contrasted atmospheric scene of an old train docked in the early morning light of a European train station.
My “Notre-Dame de Paris” image was recently featured in a couple of places online. It has a spot in the spotlight gallery at the top of the page on the {E}vermotion website. And it’s also featured in the user works section on theEnvironment Textures webiste. Those are two great websites by the way, and definately worth a visit!
Happy New Year everbody! In this beginning of the year 2009, I have the pleasure to announce you that my Notre-Dame de Paris image was selected on CGArena among many others to grace the pages of their 2009 CG Calendar. Thank you very much to CGArena for the great honor. It’s amazing to have been chosen among so many talented artists. You can download the calendar here:

I’ve started my Demo 4 at the Centre NAD. For this final project I will be recreating in 3D the Notre-Dame de Paris Cathedral as well as the surrounding area. I will try to post WIPs of my work throughout the project. Here are a few WIPs of the modeling of the Cathedral itself.
